I have a 93 325is with fairly new everything but upper strut mount, which is destroyed. I'm looking for a small increase in negative camber and would like to add as much positive caster as possible.... but i dont really want to pay 350+ for fully adjustable rubber mounts as i dont need that much adjustment.

does anyone know what the specific effects are of using the different e36 M3 mounts on non-M3 suspensions? i found a chart on bimmerworld's site but they couldnt tell me what the result is starting with a non-M car. i dont want -3* or anything like the 96-99 mounts reversed get you, but i'd really like to use factory parts if possible.

thanks!

Ireland Engineering sells an inexpensive E36 camber plate:

They mention vaguely that the M3 strut mounts will work. Not sure if you want 95 or 96+ though. You'll probably also want to get these if they aren't already in there. http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-191-e36-z3-strut-tower-reinforcement-plates-pair.aspx

Crappy site but good answer to your questions. http://www.digest.net/bmw/archive/v7/msg12507.html

So you can get 96+ M3 mounts but you also have to get the M3 spring perches. I think the 96+ M3 mounts will give an otherwise stock E36 about 1 degree neg. camber and "more" caster. The 95 M3 mounts give a little more camber (about .75 degrees) but less caster...maybe same caster as stock E36.

This is loose math from reading about what using 96+ M3 mounts will give to a 95 M3.

He already needs the strut mount though...they look like they want to poke through the hood :)

exactly, everyone says certain parts will swap because mounting locations are the same so long as spring perch matches spring diameter etc if struts themselves are swapping, but i'm just talking about the mount on top of everything and the specifics on resulting camber/caster numbers are very hard to find except for reversing 96-99 M3 strut mounts.

i'm not sure i want to add camber plates as they increase front ride height by their thickness compared to a whole mount, plus if i use those reinforcement plates that's extra height, and my stockers are GONE so its already sitting lower than just stock new mounts and i like the height right now.

perhaps those ireland fully adjustable mounts for 275 may have to be the choice as theyre shorter than stock by about teh thickness of the reinforcement plates but adjustable and still have a bushing (though it's poly)

Here's something to get you more front camber w/o plates:
