Never been to an event they have held but really wanted to get to COTA. I can get two day tickets for just me for sub 700$ it seems and since I go so much I can get a room on the strip for 100$ a night. I could ride out from SD on the bike and be there on Friday morning no problem. The racing is less exciting given how the points look now but still seems like it could be fund.
Or is it better to just watch it on TV and avoid the crowds and save about 2K, the locals I know in Vegas are pissed about the whole deal and man they make it seem like they are really not being friendly to the natives.

Sadly no, already used up my playtime cars working COTA and attending the Dutch Grand Prix this year. Planning to work Miami, work COTA, and attend the Montreal GP in 24 though.
COTA is the dream. I would love to take one of the bikes there and do a track day. Getting mixed signals from people who live there, I love Vegas but not being able to walk on teh strip or really get anywhere puts a damper on pulling the trigger.

Sounds like there are definitely a few who will be there from the 2023 F1 Thread along with a GRM offspring in the same boat as you. I've got a goal to get out to one within the next few years but thinking Canada possibly.
My SIL and grandson are there now on business......leaving Thurs morning before the first practice sad to say.......he says the hotel room price goes WAY up on Thurs, but I've been reading that demand has not been as expected and there are affordable hotel rooms now, especially on Thurs and Fri. His room looks down on a small part of the strip he says.....
Nope going to purchase a 911 instead.
