"Alpha Accelera" - I've never heard of them either, but the tread pattern makes them look like something that could be under license from a bigger manufacturer. I'm not looking to set any lap records, I just want something good enough for driving around on and I need them quick. €160 for the set with free shipping sounds pretty good to me.
Some of the others I've been looking at:
Toyo Proxes T1R for €265
Nanking NS2 for €212
Falken 912 for €269
Opinions welcome!
They look vaguely like Kumho ASXs...
Don't bother with the Nankangs, they're terrible.

Thanks, those weren't really in the running anyway. If I'm going to go for cheapies I may as well go all the way. I guess the choice is, "do I really want to pay a cool hundred more for the Toyos or Falkens?"
Well, do I? PUNK?
As for the "Alpha Accelera" (actually Accelera Alpha) I've found next to no info for them on the internet, aside from those "review" sites where people who don't know what they're talking about can give it a certain amount of stars. The company seems to make a normal-looking range of tyres and I gather people are buying them, but sheesh, they don't even have a website that I can find. Then again at €40 each they only have to last me 5k anyway.
I'd go used except that my car just failed its dumb bi-annual safety inspection because the old tyres had some cracking on the sidewall. Don't want to get into more issues with what I buy. I need this thing on the road ASAP.

Well, I just ordered the cheapies. After further searching I found the company does seem to have a website after all, and they offer a pretty decent range which at least tells me they're not some fly-by-night retread maker. Also they're Indonesian so that's got to count for something.
I guess I'll see if they asplode and kill me all over the place.
ha...bi-annual safety inspections...you should live in Michigan....I saw someone driving a Taurus with a mini spare on the rear with about 400 degrees (slight exaggeration, but it was obvious the car had been in some sort of accident) of Positive Camber.....scary.
we don't even have emission inspections.
