I'm trying to pull the 22 out of the 87 4runner for a fresher engine. I've got everything out of the bell housing. The engine will separate about 3/4 of an inch on the top and it looks like the rest is loose.
What is hanging up? Does the clutch and flywheel need to be separated like you do with a torque converter?
I've got about 9 in of room to yank this thing forward, I just don't want to stress anything by hulking it around.
Yeah, I've pulled them. Nothing special. Make sure everything is unbolted. Trans comes off the motor just like any other manual.
Is there some reason you're not pulling the trans at the same time? I pull them as a unit and stab them back in as a unit.
Pilot bearing is typically a ball bearing, so the inner race freezes onto the input shaft, making disassembly...challenging.

You know they make a stroker kit for the 22RE.......
Summit has a 350 conversion kit. Yes I've been eyeballing it, but...no.
