I bet, to some people, the 5 speed is worth the 3k alone. To some people.
I say go for it. Early car is non-interference. Would be a fun cruiser. Just learn to live with the little things that won't be working. I have had a couple of them, and enjoyed them. Actually took one to the Challenge back in 2004 or 2006, I can't remember. It was gutted loud and a ton of fun
Know of any good places for interior parts? Sources for mechanicals seem plentiful. Interior, not so much.
I don't think 3k is too steep for a manual car. I'm a little out of the loop for 928 stuff lately, but 928 International is still around. They part out a ton of cars and should have a lead on most of what you want. 928 Specialists are the sponsor of the Rennlist 928 forum. I don't know them but they seem reputable.

Back in the 1990s there were a bunch of these that were gutted out race cars. I got to drive one on track and it was a really fun fast car.
I remember watching a world challenge race on tv that had a 928 in it and Derek Daly was like that’s a real race car there that 928 lol

The owner/driver of that car, Mark Anderson runs 928 International that specialized in 928 parts and upgrades. The car was a bored out quad cam of 6.4L making about 425hp.

Anything that’s cheap Italian and was expensive when new.
There’s a great 928 thread over on corner-carvers. Tech heavy.

I bought most of my interior parts from a guy in Atlanta that runs 928 Garage. He had fair prices and he’s willing to ship.
