Can't find a single one within 400 miles on Raleigh.. Anyone seen one on their craigslist? Was shopping for a clean Crown Vic and always wanted a Marauder so I figured hell I'd get an LX Sport. But I can't seem to find any.

little more miles than I was hoping for.
These are rarely listed as sports hence your difficulty finding them. I see them all over the place in my area of indiana.

Maybe that's my problem then. I was just searching sports. Guess it's best to scan Craigslist and look at the rims or interior.
In reply to RossD:
Yup pretty much. It's sort a between P71 and a Marauder, Marauder kills it of course. And you get a dual exhaust.
My thought was, if I got a crown vic I'd want to do some work to it. If I bought a LX Sport I'd just leav it as is and enjoy it, so I can swing the extra cash for it.
LX Sport components ..... Revised springs, shocks, and stabilizer bars. 17" alloy 5-spoke wheels. Rear air suspension. Leather seating. Front bucket seats Monochromatic exterior treatment. Center console with floor shift. 3.27 rear axle ratio - open differential. Dual exhaust.
The difference between the Marauder and the sport is the simple difference of the marauder has an engine capable of moving itself stock.
Yea, the LX can still get out of its own way though. Still not much of a platform for a performance vehicle though.
You said a dirty word in my book. Well an implied dirty word.
10 year old air suspension
Sounds expensive. In actuality, do they last?
they are easily swapped for standard components. swap to cop springs and bilstiens ftw.
although if it works, to lower the car all you need to do is adjust the rear air suspension sensor. and cut front springs or whatever.

Ah, good to hear. Thanks for sharing that.
Eh, I wish that one near me didn't have 124k miles. Guess I will go check it out. There's not that many around me and silver with black interior is pretty nice.

Oh, you can make the panthers handle decently well and they're decent at drag. I was just pointing out the difference between the 16v boat anchor and the 32v engine.....nothing a procharger couldn't make up the difference between, but the Marauder pulls that premium for a few reasons.
The only thing special about the Sport at all is the center console, which can easily be swapped into any P71. (As can the seats, door panels, etc).
arent most lincoln town car seats/interior completely interchangable as well? well except for dashboard (+wiring) I mean.
In reply to failboat:
All Grand Marquis and Crown Victorias are completely interchangeable. Ford used 1 harness for every car built, so you can swap in full power leather heated seats into your P71 and just plug them right in. The Town Car used slightly different stuff, so it may not port over.

Yea, I guess you can pretty much build a LX sport by swapping in the console, adding flowmasters, and doing the rear end timing change.
In reply to Coldsnap:
A P71 will have an LSD rear with better gears and real springs, you wouldn't want to add on the problematic air suspension anyway. P71 duals are also bigger/better than the Sport ones, too.
So Javelin if I stepped into a P71, LX Sport, and regular civilian you think there would be a noticeable difference between all three? With the P71 being the best?
