Are Crown Vic LX Sport rare?

I had a "sport" as a rental car a while back, wallowing pig of a car. Perhaps rental duty had taken it's toll, but precise it was not!

They def not fast cars. But I've fallen into wanting one, fits the bill for me. V8, large, comfortable, can get out of its own way. I'm open for other suggestions though..

At the exact same condition and price? LX Sport. But since that won't happen, P71. P71's are great because they are CHEAP. Like under $1500 for a 2003 cheap. It's way easier and cheaper to swap in a JY LX Sport interior to a P71 than it is to swap a P71 suspension, exhaust, etc into an LX Sport, plus you'll have to pay more for the car to start with.

Mike, you have to remember that he does live in a different area of the country where the P71's are generally turned into donk's......

Not terribly low. Silver '02 with 144k for $5k, black '03 with 99.6k for $6k a little further south in Acton, Ma.

FWIW I've been hunting a P71 but this post had me looking at the Sports when they came up in my searches. Personally I can't justify the premium they seem to command but then this popped up...

2002 LX Sport for $2500, 113k on the clock

Given this or a similar mile/condition P71 which would you go for? I think I'll probably stick to the P71 but it's tempting to take a look at this one for sure.

Road trip for a clean low miles texas car?

Sports do pull a premium. For me its worth it. I like the platform enough to drive it for 250k miles then maybe swap the motor. With a nice sport the moonroof nicer seats make the car pretty sweet.

The second posting isn't a sport. I've been seeing that a lot. That 2.4k sport is a damn good price, lets take a look at it

Not yet, my cutoff for what Im looking for was $2k, he came close. I have a few retired detective cars to check out tomorrow but I have a feeling I may go back for it. A beater LX sport could make a nice winter car.

Think its just the angle of the parking/uneven lot. Nothing was noticeable while driving

I'd drive that over a P71 for sure. Let me know which one you think drives better once you get into a few P71s. Like Javelin said (and I trust him because this is the second car he talked me into buying haha) at the same price the LX Sport is the better buy. For some reason all the P71s in my area under 2k are beat up bad.

The Vic I'm looking at the dealer is being very stubborn and considering my $8,200 offer while it goes through service and I gave them my signature that I'd take it at that price. It's a 2004 with 98k miles and has a wonderful CARFAX and all factory options. They have it listed for 9,900 but I'm fairly sure it won't move at that. I snaped a shot before I left, they haven't detailed it yet.

Fairly sure I've got myself talked into this one. Its going to be my winter DD too so a little extra luxury won't be a bad thing. And as you and I discussed earlier should be an easier sale in Vegas when I get there after S2S next year

That one you've got there is a beauty, out of my budget range but if I was looking for one of the best examples I could find I'd be all over that.

2,200$ is hard to say no to haha. Yea, the one I found is a fine specimen. The dealer knows I like it ALOT and they got their damn feet dug into the sand, so I'm shopping around a bit. Although this one appears to be pretty decent, one buyer sold at auction to these guys. 2k more miles, no sunroof, no nice new tires but also $3,350 cheaper.

Dealer who has this one seems to specialize in CVs and has had some nicer sports he was telling me about. Including one Kenny Bell sport which he admits he was sad to have sold to a guy who wanted to make a donk. He said he almost refused the sale, but he's a dealer, cash talks.

I didn't know you called him. Yeah, nice guy, he'll talk your ear off. Stayed there longer than I wanted as he gave me the history on every other car he has for sale there. I do have to keep him in mind for cheap cars though, he has a nice selection of non perfect but good transportation type vehicles. Hes got an 04 (not sport) with over 300k on it, was an airport limo. Looks good overall, I could probably get that well below my budget as he knows hes stuck with it having that many miles on it. He was exporting them to Saudi but then they changed the rules and nothing over 5 years old could get exported so he got stuck sitting on this one.

Wow 300k miles. I'd really like whatever Vic I buy to get that high. Yea, he was telling me he buys a lot of fleet cars from this guy who buys them with all factory options. He's selling a brown/red Vic with 150k miles and a moonroof that looks pretty awesome. I think he said something that it had the performance package on it too... not a bad car.

How'd you like the color of the silver? I really like it on marauders, not sure if it's the same color. But I think a darkish tint makes the silver look nice. I think I like that grey one better though.. it's a good color.
