Slot mags>torque thrusts in every application.
I always liked the before-mentioned Minilites (on race-themed cars), as well as the Shelby 10-spokes:

I've always loved the Shelby Ten Spokes, but the '67 Kelsey Hayes Mag-Stars look great too.

Halibrands are good! I also like the Magnum 500.
Problem is none of these get you away from looking like every other Mustang.
^Those aren't Magnum 500s, but they're actually a lot nicer. Magnum 500s are steel.
I had Torque Thrust II's on my last one. They have a little more backspace to clear disc brakes.
Plus they're easy to clean!
In reply to Woody :
I agree that they are nicer. There's something about the Magnums that don't quite get it. These are sort of an updated, more modern approach to that classic look. Maybe I need to start looking to see if there's a similar approach to the Torq Thrusts?
Rocket Racing kind of has that, its not a dome over the spoke but more of a sharp edge. Its subtly different from the classic version. Again though, not quite there
Original Styled Steel wheels are always a good choice, assuming you can still find a tire size that works for you.
Widened steelies with dog dish hubcaps look different. Stock plus look, performance plus performance. (?)
Problem is, wide wheels are almost as much as mags these days.
Dark horse candidate that ive been eyeballing for mine, newer V6 mustang 16x7 wheels:
But theres a reason torque thrust 2/D’s are the answer (what mine came with from p/o). They really do look good.
Very rarely do I get an opportunity to plug one of my products here so I'm taking the opportunity!!!
Like many I always liked the various versions of A.R.E. Torque Thrusts but I didn't like that they were "played out" like an old Cragar SS. So I designed billet aluminum center caps that can change the look of the wheel and personalize it for particular cars and I sell the caps. I had Torque Thrusts on my Firebird with caps that accept Pontiac emblems and I'll use a set on my 66 Mustang when I get it back on the street, probably with caps that have an engraved logo. Custom engraving can be done on plastic inserts and also directly on the caps themselves by local trophy shops, mall store engravers, etc.
Here's some pics and a link to catalog page in my online store with the center caps. https://lab-14.myshopify.com/collections/all

They almost have the right look but I never could figure out whey they would design this with no lip???? They would look so much better with negative offset
Torque Thrusts seem to be on a lot of classic cars and they look great. Agree too much like everyone else. Panasports look good an anything/everything. Halibrands do to. Libre wheels look good to. Don't forget the other classic wheels from back in the day. Cragar Keystone Klassics and aluminum slotted dish. All period correct.
Second vote for stock base model type steel wheel of the desired width and diameter. Period correct dog dish hubcaps if you need a splash shiny.

You can't! There are no better wheels for a classic mustang. However, my 70 Mach1 had the fat chrome trim hubcaps, and to me that was best because they unique to that car
and very rare to find as most people replaced them back in the day.
No.
But, I've *always* loved Torq-Thrusts. I also love Minilites, and (machined) aluminum slots. Many of the other wheels in this thread work too. Not Keystone Classic or Cragar S/S. I got some late model Mustang wheels for my wagon, for the Torq-Thrust look, but 17x8 performance.
I am not sure there is a better wheel than a torque thrust on a Mustang. But I have always wondered what old school JDM wheels would look like on a 60s Mustang.
Work and other manufacturers made 5 lug versions of some of their more iconic wheels in the early 80s. They might even be the right offset too because they were made for rwd cars.
I like taking the classic style (torque thrusts or magnums are my choice from what's been shown) and get them in a little larger sizes - 17" or 18" and a little wider.
unless you're looking for more period correct then disregard above statement
