$3000 for my Civic, $1000 for two Yugos (including parts I have bought so far), $1150 so far on my Spitfire ($900 for the JK Jackson built motor and $250 for the limited slip diff.), about $1500 for my F150.

1991 Jeep Wrangler - $3500
2002 Silverado 2500HD - $7500
2002 Protege 5 - $10,000
2008 Mustang GT Roller - $3000
2006 Mustang GT Driver - $8500
Also interesting is that as much of a jap car fanboi as I was a decade ago, the only jap car we have is the Protege that is my wife's daily.
After DDing a Miata for the past 2 years, I'd be happy to be able to afford a new Escalade. I'd probably get a few years used one, but I'd still be happy in that. Driving my dads new Infiniti last weekend made me miss my old SAAB. Heated seats, nice leather, a good stereo, very little road noise...
Damn, I want a garage with some sort of living quarters attached to it.
I went to a cousin's wedding in Dallas and all the family was put up in a boutique hotel downtown. Nice place, a bit over-the-top, hey-look-at-us-being-fancy, but whatever. (And they wouldn't let a group of adults bring in a case of beer we brought from the gas station across the street after their price-gouging bar closed down, but that's a rant for another time.) Their airport shuttle was an Escalade with longhorns on the hood, which struck me as exactly on-point. But I have to say, it was perfectly suited for the purpose. It was a dressed up people/stuff mover and it did the job with aplomb: it took 8 people (including the driver) and their luggage in relative comfort. Could it have been done with a regular Suburban? Sure, but it wouldn't have given the appearance of affluence that the brand was trying to convey.

I'm still on my cranky Gelandewagen tangent.

The 2008 Mustang is being turned into a CP car.

I'd rather be driving what you're driving than what most of them are driving.

You are pathetic, but mostly due to the lack of giant flare updates.
Phase 1 is to be a mostly stock 4.6 (CAI, long tubes, pullies, CMCV delete, 93 Octane dyno tune) which should put ~330HP to the ground, coupled with enough lightening to get to 2750#. Suspension is to be full spherical, watts linked, on OE pickup points, with JRZ triple adjustable dampers. Planning on running 315 Hoosiers on 18 x 10.5's, like the ESP cars.
Phase 2 will include a Coyote motor putting 500HP to the ground, 18 x 12's, and probably more extensive chassis lightening / stiffening. And fixing whatever weak links reveal themselves in Phase 1.
