75db sound limit at the property line?!? No racing past 9pm? Granted it's for tracks built after 2021, but if you make improvements to an existing track, you fall under new regulations.
Reading his pinned comment, looks like they put off the vote. Probably bring it up again after the opposition dies down.
That state probably prefers street racing.

Just to put 75 db at the property line into perspective, when Car and Driver tested a 2022 VW GTI (a pretty quiet car in my opinion), they found "At a steady 70 mph, there are 71 decibels...."
I know Lime Rock reached an agreement with a local church/municipality/residents long ago, so maybe the track owners can mitigate the noise appropriately if the proposal passes into law. Maybe a thick line of pine trees around the perimeter would help. Still, it's an added cost of doing business.

For what it's worth, I grew up on a farm that was about a mile away from a kart track (to the west) and to the East about four miles away was Meadowdale International Raceway. It was a treat in Sundays to open the windows to hear the karts and then the distant roar of the exotic race cars.
As an Arkansan I signed a petition yesterday about this bill. Some of the weird stuff Arkansas comes up with is just bonkers. I'm not sure what track owner pissed off a legislator but that's clearly the genesis of the whole debacle. Maybe he or she built a house near a track and didn't think it would be that bad?
A couple years ago we lost our 25 year old antique registration option because one of the boomers in office didn't think anything newer than the 70s deserved to be considered a classic. It failed the first round but after the outrage died down they slipped it in again with it barely passing. Now the threshold is 45 years.

I have the same fondness of listening to the racers from Firebird, now Talking Stick, from living in south Ahwatukee. Sport bikes, all types of track cars, Top Fuel Dragsters, and suprisingly enough the loudest where always the drag boats. Pipes pointed straight at us, reflecting off the water and off the mountain.
My parents used to live in Arkansas. I remember no zoning near where they lived with million dollar mansions sitting next to 20 year old single wide mobile homes with dirt driveways and cars up on blocks. A very strange place.

I'll never forget the first time I was on the East track at Firebird while they were running top fuel drag boats... at first I thought there was something wrong with my race bike. With a helmet/earplugs, you didn't hear them as much as feel them!

Used to ride sport bikes all through NW AR years ago. This was maybe 2005, we stopped at a gas station to get a drink and use the bathroom. No joke, they still had an outhouse for the restroom. Of course this was way out in the middle of nowhere.

I saw on one of Misha Charoudin's recent videos that he has new neighbors who moved into the almost 100 year old mecca of motorsports, right next to a building that has at least 2 race shops in it, and immediately called him and said that if they hear engines revving outside his shop again they'll call the cops.
I'd like to think those new neighbors might be the world champions at this game but it's more likely that they're totally average players.

I can't speak to this incident or others but I know that there is a fine line between being polite and neighborly and what not.
if I used the calculator correctly 95db at 6' is 75db at 60' so assuming the track is at least 60' inside of the property line or has some form of noise barrier a 75db limit at the property line should be okay for most cars that abide by the 95db limit.
