Just about my only complaint about the new Mini is that it's just so darn expensive and and now this. Geeez.

new cobalt SS > mini cooper s. Cheaper price tag, interior sucks, performance is great (das Nurburgring times), cheaper to maintain.
As for that price range.....I'll take a Pontiac G8
but the cooper retains resell value, the cobalt ss is the best cavalier ever built but still gonna be sellign for penies ont he dollar after a few years, same for the pontiac
but GM doesn't offer a small 4 seat convertible aaat any price, and I believe that puts the mini in the same price range as a saturn sky, which is of course a 2 seat convertible
If anything, it's competing with the Eos, and with that, it has the price advantage by a large margin.
it is a stretch to truly consider a new mini a 4seater. Any time I have looked at one the back of the front seat is touching the rear seat. maybe if you have a short driver and small people in the back...
My wife said the Mini Convertible is a female only car.
She saw a few guys driving them this past summer and commented that it just doesn't look right.
Sort of reminds me of the old MK1 VW Cabby converts.
It'll fit on the passenger side, you just won't be able to have anyone of larger stature in the front passenger seat.
$27k or so? that's damn close to 3 series territory... or acura..
or Mazda speed 6
or a damn lotta great cars..
