The family and I hopped in and took off for New York City. Wife has always wanted to see the Statue of Liberty, so we hopped in the bus and took off. We left Atlanta last Sunday and got home this afternoon. Stayed a couple of nights in North Carolina including one night in the Outer Banks before spending the night in Lewe's, Delaware. We got to New York City and did the usual touristy stuff. We went and stayed in York, PA before heading into DC and then back over to Richmond, VA before a night in Winston Salem, NC and back home. All in all, a trip worth taking and we had a good time. Twenty-two hundred miles were driven for this trip.

Where'd you get those state stickers? They're awesome
Oh thank god.
Before I saw the pics I thought you meant you took a greyhound bus.
I couldn't fathom a worse vacation than that after I took one 5 hours to pick up a car
That's awesome. Many people wouldn't think the bus would have made it.
That's fantastic! Great pics too!
I love everything about this story
Right on! How long does it take you guys to set up/take down your camp site?
My parents just did a similar road trip from Atlanta through Kentucky to Niagra Falls and up to Montreal then back. There's a lot to see and do along the way if you're not in a hurry.
That looks like so much fun.
thatsnowinnebago, I got them from an Amazon seller. About $20.
chuckles, same here. We're going back in October to stay there for a week.
icaneat50eggs, no sir, lolol.
spitfirebill, Mr. B plugged right along without skipping a beat. Aside from 2 flat tires in Pennsylvania, lolol.
z31maniac, itsarebuild, and Stampie, thank you very much!
nderwater, I'd say 15-20 minutes and we're done. That includes everything you see pictured in the pics with the walls on the awning. The original plan was to include driving across New York to Niagara, but I caught poison ivy and my wife pulled a ligament in a foot so we just wound our way back south. We tried not to hurry(not hard to do in a bus) and even during the stretch from OBX to Manhattan, we only spent about 6 or so miles on the freeway. Love scenic drives.
In reply to qdseeker:
The ride up the coast from OBX to NY is a nice one. I have friends in Chesapeake we see a couple times a year and the only we take is through Jersey.
For the record, your bus is one of my favorite vehicles on this forum.
Awesome trip!
Wall-e, you're right. I enjoyed every moment of the trip and since I don't drive too much faster on back roads as I do on freeways, I see no reason to not enjoy the scenic views of a country/beach/mountain road.
Toyman01, gwarsh (in my blushed-faced Goofy impression). That's a helluva compliment, man. I really appreciate it.
I was looking into buying a Westie 15-20 years ago when you could pick a pretty good one for $3000. I wish I had.
So this may be a little weird but I remember your old Neon and a slammed white FC rx7 from way back in the import Atlanta days. I had a white Galant VR4 (1439/2000 was/is my name on there) and sold my blue BMW 2002 to Paul from IA. Those were some pretty fun times in the Atlanta car scene. I was following your blue Civic CVCC build back then too. Still have that one?
Good to see you taking this beauty out on roadtrips.
Keep posting it up over here.

spitfirebill, I was told that it wasn't just a few years ago that these were easy and less costly to buy and drive. I bought mine real cheap, but sunk a lot into him.
crankwalk, I do remember you, man. How's it? I got rid of the CVCC a year ago January. A few weeks after I bought this. Found this would be better thing to work on and it has proven me right.
Thank you for the compliment.

Parts are probably way easier to find. Much bigger following of those for sure. Not sure if you've ever checked out Raby's Aircooled in Cleveland GA but they have some really cool air cooled stuff and a big selection of parts.
Yes, I've heard of Jake, but never met him or used him. Parts are much easier to find for this than the Civic.
