SWMBO's B8 A4 Quattro 2.0T has a bad turbocharger (oil consumption, oil in the charge pipes, low boost, great compression) and seeing as how I can leave nothing alone, we want to upgrade it. It's the factory stock K03 but the car has an upgraded FMIC, charge pipes, and intake on it already along with the updated PCV system and engine tune.

From what I can gather from the more coherent threads, the K04 upgrade kits are worth about 40% more power and retain all the factory connections and serviceability. Outside of the the turbo and manifold itself it looks like the only other things our particular car would need is a tune again and an exhaust upgrade.

Anybody have any words of wisdom? My turbo experience was DSM and F2T in the 90's and BP and Turbo Ford Lima in the 00's. Apparently I can't just slap a Holset on this thing and a fishtank valve and call it good.

Can the 2.0 mount anywhere a 1.8 has been?

K04 has good power but up high, if you want a more power that is more usable and faster spooling look into Frankenturbo
