Talk to the guys on Motorgeek. I forget if pulling the engine or the trans is easier. I know on the small-chassis cars, pulling the engine is easier because of how the trans overlaps the steering rack, but not sure about the large-chassis cars.

Also, buy it before one of them buys it to part out. That one may have the wide 1st-gear trans, which was a '95-only thing, and was the strongest transmission Audi ever built for a street car.
