Quick question: Anyone know what transmission fluid a 2010 Mazda3 i with the 5AT takes? The dipstick and manual say "Mazda MV", but I know this is a Ford transmission. Would that MV happen to stand for Mercon V?
I have to replace the transmission oil pan in my wife's car (it rotted out) and the fluid has to be changed along with the filter.
Thanks in advance guys!
Mazda put out a service bulletin that Mazda MV is NOT the same as Ford Mercon V.

However, many people say that the trans actually shifts better with a high quality synthetic Mercon V substitute than it does with Mazda MV.
Thanks for the heads up. I just ordered all the parts, and 6 quarts of the Mazda stuff from an online dealer. I've read that it takes about 9qts with the converter, but I figured 4-6 for a transmission filter change would probably do it.
