Ok, thanks for your time listening to my fruitless rants, here is my newest interest, 2006 Nissan Sentra SER Spec-V, 33,000 miles, $11K. The numbers look nice, aprox. 2500#, 180 HP, 170TQ and a factory Torsen.

To me the biggest advantage of this car is that it will out-perform my Neon R/T. How will the Torsen do in snow? Any other general info beyond what Wiki tells me?
They arre supposed to be pretty fast. I know at least some years have tranmission problems though.

It might very slightly outperform your R/T. The main advantage is that it's a newer car with a nicer interior.
The disadvantage is that it costs about 5-10x more.
And they're more like 2700lbs. Still light by today's standards, though. About the same weight as my Celica started off as, and it never felt heavy.
Decent price, though. If you want it, get it. But i think any added performance you would get out of it could be made up by putting a LSD in your R/T.
I had a good friend with a Spec-V, and I didn't like it much. The engine was great but it didn't really "go", I think the car was just too porky? Also if it has the Brembo brakes they are very expensive to service. I would jump on one for a daily commuter for around $7K, but definitely not $11K. I mostly disliked the shifter. The trans itself was great, good gearing and felt strong. But that shifter was so vague and rubbery... I'm sure that's easily solved by aftermarket parts now though.
Hmm, I remember an article from when that gen. Sentra came out and they really didn't like the shifter.
