Just idle thoughts about my smashed B14.  What did these things look like back in their racing heyday?

Maybe something like this: https://www.nissan-global.com/EN/HERITAGE_COLLECTION/sunny_1996.html

Let me see if I can track down some more photos.

In reply to Noddaz :

With the SCCA and if opening this up to SE-R, you were looking at Showroom Stock C or, if going tube frame, GT4 or GT5.

That GT4/GT5 car looks way cool

I know those are livery examples, but the last two cars you pictured are the Infiniti G20/Nissan Primera on the P10/P11 platform. Folks think they are the same but there are some significant differences.  Some parts interchange but a lot doesn't.

Ah. Thank you for pointing that out.

I might have gotten a little too click-happy looking through the Nissan archives. laugh

If you want the JTCC look, then you want it super low with 17s or 18s wheels tucked up into the wheel wells.

Yokohama Advan livery also works on almost anything.

I second this. It was certainly a popular look for a lot of racers of the period.

And for another timeless livery idea, you can't go wrong with something BRE-inspired.

Thank you all for posting the pictures.

Somehow I was expecting more stuff like this:

I am glad that did not happen.

I mean, I wouldn't say no to box flares if you really want to go that route.

Maybe something like this? (I know it's not a Nissan, but it's the photo I had on hand)

I always wanted to build a street-going version of the JTCC CD7 Accord. Maybe even get wild and make it a wagon, since the CD7 wagons look awesome.

These metal flares are on Flea Bay:

I am of no help to myself.

Also a good way of futureproofing tire availability!

Sometimes there's good stuff in the Nissan Competition Catalog.  Sometimes not.

There was a guy who was King Of ITA a decade or so ago in a B14.

There is an in car video of him passing most of the field in a couple of laps when he missed quali.

What was his name...

His answer to the horrible rear suspension in those was 1000lb/inch rear springs.  Suspension can't be bad if it doesn't move.

Wow, it's nice to see all those pics. I am a big time fan of those times and Datsun/Nissan's.

Want some Datsun love? I have about 15 Datsun Motorsports Catalogs from the late 70's until a few years ago.  The older ones had great pictures - I was amazed at the posters they offered too.
