Just got it tagged. I plan to drive it a while and see if i get any more bugs out of it. Later on I'm gonna get a burner and tune it some more as its running a stock GSR basemap now, and get a new Cat back exhaust.

I got the car in a trade for painting a '03 Quad Cab Dodge. The body is rough but the interior is decent and the engine is more than expected. I popped the hood and see B20B Stamped on the block with DOHC Vtec on the valvecover (B16a Head). After getting the car home I started going through it and getting it sorted out. Someone tried to wire it up and cut the wires at the sensors and ran their own wires (all red ones at that) to the ECU... If they did a little reading they would have saved themselves some time and realized that a '92 DX was already wires for Vtec from the Strut Connectors to the ECU. Also The fan was wired straight and a temp sending unit for an a pilllar gauge was relocated to the Fan switches location. Also the car had no Thermostat installed. So After I got the wiring down, inspection revealed that a Virgin P28 ECU was running the show. I located a Socketed P28 for $60 and my virgin one, and a cool guy named Eddie burnt me a GSR P72 Map with the Vtec engagment at 4700 and a Rev Limit of 7400 for free. Hoping to get a burner and tune it more, but with a LS trans its fairly quick the way it is.

I'll post a few pics in the morning.

leave the LS trans in place, you don't want a gsr or b16 trans, they are waay too short, especially if you plan to turbo it at some point. Lots of guys go hondata, it seems to be easy to tune, and learn on, and there are lots of shops using it on various applications.

Yiiii... i'd say go for the GSR or B16, since turbo'ing a "stock" B20vtec is just asking for trouble. The squish area is already REAL weird on a B20 block/B16 head combo, and the sleeves aren't exactly robust.

Also not a fan of the LS tranny unless there's some form of FI, but it doesn't sound like it's a priority right now anyway. The B16 unit is pretty damn tight, but the GSR gearing is reasonable imho. Whatever, congrats on getting her on the road. I want to see pics as well.
