So the day before yesterday my clutch cable snapped, It was less than 2 months old... The end on top of the pedal where the pellet holds the cable pulled off. I have it repaired as a temp fix by welding the end of the new cable to the old cable i cut off (the adjustment was siezed to the cable, IE NO ADJUSTMENT). So I've saved me up some $$$ and curious what I should money on. The car is currently my DD, but I have access to another car should the need arise to use it. I occationally will do autoX with it but would like to get more power out of it. What to do?

Megasquirt, Flywheel & Clutch (it will need a clutch sometime in the future), Electronic Boost Controller, MX-6 Intercooler (already have just need to install), Upgrade the Turbo with an MX-6 Compressor or Tbird TC), I'm really up in the air.

I have the car running very well. Installed new Timing and Drive Belts, Plugs, Wires, Cap, Rotor, T-Stat & Coolant Flush, Oil and Filter, 2.25" Exhaust, and an Open Filter.

Input appreciated...

I have a Thomas Knight Turbochargers IHI/T3/T4 hybrid turbo that is bolt on fitment for the 1g MX6/Probe that would REALLY make that thing scream....

I'm not sure what your budget is though.

What's your budget?

I don't know about Dans budget but mine is a gutted Festiva interior and a carbed B3/4-speed tranny combo (that may or may not run).

Is that enough?

Seriously, though I'm just bumping this up as I'm interested in performance gains with a B6T also (challenge friendly of course).

Well, i'm selling my turbo with a full 3" exhaust (with a couple easily patchable holes) turbo back to Apexi N1 fart can for $500 obo.

Obviously, the exhaust is for well... not your car, but i'm sure you could adapt the downpipe and salvage some of the piping. You'd need to supply a wastegate, i suggest 38mm because i can throw in a wastegate dump tube with that flange already.

The more in-depth rundown of the turbo: IHI VJ11 exhaust housing (stock mx6) bored out with a Garrett 50trim compressor housing, all stuffed with a T4S wheel. Will hold over 20psi, should be good for more than your motor can handle.

Don't know just how much power you want to make, though. I'm sure it would annihilate the clutch you have on there now in very short order.

I also have an interesting EE EBC V1.0 electronic boost controller. I'll have to post pics, but basically it's a solenoid hooked into a potentiometer with an on/off toggle switch. Off, you run wastegate pressure. On, you run whatever it's set to. Run low boost for first two gears, then set to "kill" through the others?

If my turbo isn't what you're looking for, (and it very well might not be) hop on the MX6 forums and start looking around. Stockers sell for $150 or less, t-bird hybrids not much more.

Other food for thought... you might be able to find a stock Familia GTR turbo for that price, and that's good for over 300whp on a BPT.

Thats definately a good price! Though it would probably lag considerably on my little 1.6. I'm lookin to get around 180-200ish HP. IMy brother has a '93 SHO that I'd like to beat in a 1/4 mile run. As it is now, from 40-90 on a roll it pulls barely a car and a half on me.

I don't think it would lag THAT bad.... Gotta remember it's still got the little VJ11 exhaust housing. I know for a fact it spools way earlier and harder than the CT26 i'm running right now, and you've got another 1500rpms or so of useable revs on me.

However, i do feel like it might be overkill for your power goals.

I think you could hit 180hp on stock turbo, though.

If you're actually interested, just shoot me a message. That goes for turbo and/or boost controller. My feelings aren't hurt if you pass, though.

Yep, i'll get them up tonite. It's sitting on my counter in the kitchen. Next to a defunct polished CT26 and a Japanese market TRD LSD for an E153 transmission.

My girlfriend hates me.

I'll get them up when i get home from work this evening, i promise.

I also have a set of Familia GTX 360cc injectors, and a set of MX6 GT 330cc injectors, both of which should be PNP for you.

That turbo setup came off of a monstrously fast 1991 Probe GT, has some mild shaft play that will likely go away once it has oil through it again, but it did not smoke and functioned perfectly.

Exhaust has some holes that could be easily patched (guy taking it off the car didn't do a real great job), and has an LC-1 sensor w/ pigtail still in it.

I'm sure i've got some other stuff around here. Are you interested in the EBC?

You'll need to log in to post.
