Many of us have experienced the urges to do dumb stuff with cars. The question is: What have you always wanted to try that is against common sense? My top three are:
A TBI SBC and an eBay turbo
Putting an LS1 & T56 in a GTV6 and keeping both transmissions so that you have 30 forwards gears.
Putting a twin turbocharged LS7 in a Fiero.
Fire away your ideas!
It would turn the thing into a total deathbox on wheels, but I kinda want to throw some boost at the Jeep... It'll do 450 - 500whp without having to build the bottom end of the motor, although I'd probably make it about a day before I have to build the trans
My naughty daydreams involve LSx swaps into broken 70's or 80's Ferraris.
914 with 3.5 how and transaxle from a Chrysler 300m stuffed in the back.
Turbo Northstar awd s10
Stuffing a centrifugal on the 400 rwhp duster
Ebay twin turbo on the tbi 350 elky
Full Nascar chassis under a 71 demon
I can keep going.

I thought driveabeater 2.0 had a 4-barrel?
Turbo NA/NB Miata drive train in a Nash Metropolitan. Or, a 1UZFE in the '68 Corona I saw for sale a week or two ago.
A hybrid 20b e-shaft with S2 renesis housings and rotors.
Aside from that a Maserati Bi turbo, both equally as bad and expensive TBH.

It's had three different four barrels over the years. Now with tbi!
Nash Metropolitan on a Prius floor pan.

I know there's a Metropolitan running around with a 1.6 Miata drivetrain already.
Me? Maserati Biturbo LS swap. Or maybe take alfadriver's GTV and put a sexy V6 in it.
Caddy 500 in the hatch of a Prius, 1970 spec motor, manual body TH425, tinted back windows, good mufflers with dumps. Only big giveaway cruising around should be the monster back tires.
Street sandrail with dry sump turbo type 1 motor and less than 8lbs/hp.
Bigass hotrod sort of build made out of a Dodge Cummins truck.
Something under 2500lbs with a SBC with 3.25" of stroke or less (maybe the old 301/302 build) and a 8000+ redline, 4 speed.

Hmm... I was driving around earlier thinking about what it would be like to do a locost type build with the frame of one of the newer F-150s with the TT V6...
Decades ago (high school) I toyed with the idea of putting a Windsor motor, C-4 tranny, and 9 inch in my '76 Corolla...

Duster or AMC Spirit with an SRT4 Neon engine and an AR5
Dodge Rampage with 1g DSM AWD drivetrain and suspension
LS/T56 In a Jeep XJ with Miata front suspension.
A thing that looks like a 60s F1 car with a 4G63
Does a turbo s2000 (F20C) in a late 80s/early 90s volvo 240 count? I proposed it here a while back and got the "ur a potato" response.
I also have a body in white 2012 Civic Si shell. Ive been toying with a FWD LS4 drivetrain in the rear for chump car/lemons. Or some LSX variant with a corvette transaxle in the rear of it. RWD V8 is the end product idear.
Honda drivetrains are running the same costs in used form. Could fab and drop LSX drivetrain in for the same price as bolting in a K-series.

My thinking way to remove everything non essential, no fenders, no hood, no bed (maybe a lightweight flatbed or something), no heavy bumpers, no roof, etc. Lower the hell out of it, maybe Z the frame.
edit: Sort of like this but not to the point of channeling the body.

Ls3 swapped RX8 for a daily....
Mechanical DT466 and a Allison 6 speed in my F350. I'm pretty sure it's too tall to fit under the hood.
An air cooled 911 with a k-series added up front.

An eBay special challenge civic.
Oh, and a turbocharged GM 3.4 V6 and a T5 in a FB.

been there done that. Ran 12.1 on a stock D15 with all ebay and homebrew turbo components at the challenge. Was such a fun car. Highly recommend you do this. Judges hate Hondas though so that's the only downside (sarcasm).
These come up on ebay from time to time for like $500.
I can get hold of an industrial electric motor pretty cheap:
For the Challenge, you only need about 90 seconds of juice at a time, so swap out batteries before the autocross and dragstrip. Maybe do AWD with 4 motors.
never own anything resembling a sports car.
build something with a hp to weight ratio in the ariel atom ballpark.
have it be 65% rear weight and have no clue on anything related to handling.
drive the hell out of it.
oh wait, I already did that.
