So I was about to go to work yesterday. I fire up the car and the engine feels like it is "shacking" back and forth. So I shut it off and took my moms car to work. After I was back home I started it up again and it ran fine but it had a code 43 in the system "Multiple cylinder missfire detected. Peak primary circuit current not achived with the maximum dwell time"
Does this sound like i might have dropped one of the coils in the coil pack? I will be testing out the plugs, wires and coil pack soon, but any other sugestions?
Replace coil(s), eplace wires, replace plugs, drive 50K miles, repeat.
Damn, I have to drive into town first to buy a new battery for my multi-meter

Last time I checked, an MSD or accel coil pack was $30 less than a basic unit from the 'Zone

I just checked out all the parts. As I had suspected, it looks like the plugs and wires where replaced when the timing belt and water pump was done just before i bought it.
Plug wires 1&4 came out to 1.6k ohms and wires 2&3 are 1.3k ohms, so those are good.
Plugs 1&2 looked clean, light wear. Plug 3 looked like 1&2 but a little darker, posibly carbon deposit. Plug 4 was coated in oil but othewise worn like the rest.
All specs on the coil ccame back spot on.
Edit, the oil on the #4 could be the cause of my oil consumtion issues
Time to button it back up and test drive it.

What type of car is this? Mileage? Don't assume that because it has had spark plug wires replaced recently that the spark plug wires are good. Aftermarket spark plug wires are notoriously horrible quality compared to OEM...they don't carry a warranty like OEM products do and they make a profit by selling you more parts, so it's simple math that they'd make a lower quality product. Also, checking plug wires with an ohmmeter is nearly useless. Sure, you know if the wires are literally broken, but that's about it. When plug wires go bad it's due to the silicone/wire jacket breaking down due to heat, chaffing, etc. and the spark takes the path of least resistance.

Where are you getting a 10% coupon? The ones I've seen/got were 5%...I'd love a 10 percenter.

'98 neon DOHC with 121K. plugs and wire look to have been done at around 110K. As for my oil consumtion, it tends to be 1qt. every 500-700 miles, that is rather quick for having the MLS headgasket done. I just got back from a 15 mile drive, it ran just fine. Now I just need to clear the codes and wait for it to show back up.
Bryce, I think I got it confused with Harbor Freight as I initially wanted to make it 20%. Oh well.
