What I have noticed, for at least a decade now, is manuals having much more aggressive gearing than equivalent auto cars. That is how autos have started getting equal or better mileage. That should also account for better highway manners.
I will second what Sleepyhead, Brock/OLOA posted on a status someone made and said save the dates, next years OLOA will end on Saturday before mothers day, you can work backwards to the start from there.
