I wish to h--ll that Craigslist would have a bot that would tell anyone selling a "barn find" that a POS is a POS whether its found in your driveway, in the weeds, or in an actual barn. A barn doesn't contain some magic elixir that grants any car found within it a rarefied air.

And since I'm being grumpy, if you are a vehicular hoarder who sees fit to fill a warehouse with interesting unrestored cars which someday your widow or son will auction off; maybe, just maybe, those cars would be better off in the hands of someone who will actually fix them up and use them than as a monument to a dead guys eccentricity.

Haha. Thank you. Like the one last year with the chevy dealer that hoarded all of the near new cars. I saw the pictures of a lot of them and they needed a full restoration and they only had under a 1000 miles.

The sad thing is people are paying stupid prices for them. As long ad people do that more cars will come out of the "barn"

As a self professed hoarder with a few in the barn, I must offer some defense.

Some people just use it wrong. Barn find indicates some sort of protected storage on a long term basis. Out of the weather, out of the sun and left alone by meddlers and vandals. People often represent the condition wrong by design or ignorance. This is why I never buy unseen.

As to hoarders...I have a few neat cars stashed that were on the spiral to scrap before I rescued them. Literally met the guy at the scrapyard! Some I bought because they had some interesting quirk when I found them and some get a following. Pulled a 28 year "barn find" that got to the right person and is now happily cruising north Arkansas. I spend a lot of time looking at old cars that are badly described in ads. Looked at a "restored" Cougar that was a mess with new paint and interior.

I just find stuff faster than I can sell it!

I prefer the term, "Car Pimp".

All's fair in marketing. I have been tempted to put "gluten free" on the adds for car stuff I sell. Seems to be enough idiots who will buy anything with that label!

I see Gummy Bears has "Fat Free" on the label. As if pure sugar is ok!

The term "barn find" annoys me. It usually means the car was a POS that the owner couldn't get to run 30 years ago and was too lazy to write up a Want-Ad for it (no Craigslist in the 70's and 80's).

Wife: "That thing broke AGAIN? Just get rid of it!"

Husband: "Nah, I'll just stick it out back next to the chickens and get to it later, I'm so sick of that POS right now."
