Hey all,

I have me a 1985 318i e30 sedan. I'm looking to freshen up the suspension and brakes on a budget. Tires need not apply to this conversation, although I do plan to run tires on the 14" rims.

My car has rear drums. I have a full rear disc conversion on the garage floor that needs 'freshening'.

I'm trying to accomplish a few things here.

  1. Get everything safe and well sorted
  2. Add more cornering smiles without sacrificing too much of the daily comfort
  3. Get the brakes/suspension 'acceptable' for future power adders (let's just say 300 whp)

Methinks the last one opens up a can of worms.

Also, this probably deserves it's own thread, but when it comes to suspension bushings... stock rubber or aftermarket poly? (See requirement #2)

I'd go poly out back and OEM m3 cabs up front. I never noticed much additional NVH with poly out back, but i prefer the extra stiffness if trying to locate suspension points with that much power.

Also easier to install than the rubber pieces. Really the only poly mount to avoid is the trans.
