I resisted the lure of Bring-A-Trailer for a long time, but succumbed during one particularly mind-numbing conference. Now it's a daily read, and I'm obviously addicted.
This doesn't help:
2002 with M3 motor
And a pic:
Check out the cool battery tie-down in the trunk (although maybe all 2002s had that).
Rob
2002's never had the battery in the trunk. Thankfully its priced in the stratosphere ;)
Kinda too bad they started with a Tii.

As always I love the BaT comments. I never posted there, but I always get a chuckle out of reading them.
M2's are nice.
In reply to Kendall_Jones:
The listing says it was not a Tii, just a plain Jane 2002.
Very cool car but way too much money for me.
While it is a lot of money, I hesitate to try and work out how much the conversion would've cost the person who built it.
Any yes, I'm also subscribed to their RSS feed.
OMG!! I wish I didn't have my Celica now!!
TWO 70 Capri race cars for $5000!!!

I recently subscribed because I noticed they posted an Alpina B9 last summer I would have wanted to consider buying. It is far from certain I would pull the trigger on something like that, but I need to know when they become available.
Sometimes the snarky attitude from BaT gets annoying, but they do dig up some cool stuff. The M-2 made me drool, I admit it.
I don't think Bat has an attitude. Some of the commenters? Oh hell yes. There are a lot of opinionated folks there. Every car listed has one or two people there to state that the restorations costs would exceed the value blah...blah. As if every single car needed to be brought to concours levels.
It is comments like these that make me chuckle and wonder about people
Some dude on BaT said:
I am usually very much against any sort of modifications to any car, especially drastic engine transplants
I doubt he is a member here
I love BaT. I hate that I can't afford anything that's on BaT!
Someone sent that to my email this morning....sigh. :) Beautiful car!
Hope your E36 M3 is treating you well!

Oh really?

I ran the California Melee with the BaT crew a few months ago, and have to say that they are very good guys. Cool but not aloof. Taking pictures of everyone and spreading good cheer. They were driving a very clean 356 Porsche and we stumbled upon them in the middle of an old-growth Redwood Forest. We pulled our Alfa over and both parties took some pics and breathed in the beauty of the place. It was a transcendent moment.
Wow, my mulletmobiles (2 1979 Trans Ams) would get angry if I brought one of those home!
I avoid BaT.... I do not need another project
Crap, I kinda want that NSU Ro80. I'm sure with my experience on the RX-7 I can get it running right... maybe...
Inre: the Ford Capri's for sale;
This really makes me want to consider restoring my '73. The only way it could be affordable would be my learning how to do body work on it myself, and all that goes along with that. That's after towing it here, and getting a different apartment or house that has a better garage to work in (nearly non-existent electrical service where I'm currently at). Maybe next year...
