Fire up your streaming machines and get ready for one of the best races of the year. Qualifying has a one lap winner-take-all shootout. No night practice, but they start the race just before dawn. There are kangaroos. I predict the winning margin will be under 4 seconds.

I don't know how anyone else feels about this, but from watching videos that looks like about the most entertaining track in the world. Would love to watch that race live, would love even more to race in it!
I wait all year for this race.
We went to Australia for vacation over Christmas last year, and my son and I made a point of getting to Bathurst to check out the track. We play Gran Turismo which has that track, and it's a really good copy of the real thing (like all their tracks).
The track is a public road most of the time. There are houses with driveways off of the track, and there is a vineyard in the middle. Access is totally open, and the speed limit is 60 KPH with traffic going both ways (though no center line). We took a couple laps in the rented SUV to check it out. As always, the real elevation change is much steeper than it seems in the game. It is really cool. Actually racing there would be a blast, though much of it has no runoff, just guardrails right at the edge of the pavement.
There is also a cool motorsports museum on the property.
It was definitely worth the 6 hours of driving to do the round trip from downtown Sydney.
Also here. GRM-type "vintage race right now.

The math is too hard for my tiny brain. Can someone please tell me what time the actual race starts in the US?

The race starts at 0545 AEDT Sunday which is 1845 GMT Saturday which would equate to 1345 EDT Saturday afternoon.
So 1:45PM Eastern, 12:45PM Central, 11:45AM Mountain, 10:45AM Pacific, assuming you celebrate daylight savings time in your jurisdiction.

I thought it is tomorrow over there right now
Not only are the upside down, they are also time travelers. It's mind boggling
If you go to the streaming link in my first post, it'll give you times in your local currency
In reply to Keith Tanner:
I tried to on my phone but it wouldn't load properly.
Just started up again with another support race. Mostly V8 coupes and sedans.
What an incredible racetrack.
Broadcast just went live!
An endurance race that starts in the middle of the night at Mount Panorama fits in perfectly in a country that seems to specialize in unique and exciting ways to be killed.

Yup - but scary as hell too! The in-car footage is amazing.
At home sick today. Got Mark W's "Shooter" on the TV and this on the computer. All things considered, not a bad way to spend the day.
EDIT: McLaren's entry lobbing blobs of molten metal out of the exhaust was pretty epic.
Well... that's one way to get a lap back.
That Ferrari is so pretty.

It sounds pretty good too.
Here's the Youtube live link. I've got it going in the living room on the TV via my Roku.
I love it when they make it easy.
For anyone who's not watching: you are missing out big time. And I'm getting nothing done at all.
In reply to Keith Tanner:
Me neither. There's always tomorrow
Watching now. Wife just walked out of the room.
