I just had to leave for half an hour to take delivery of an ND V8 off a transporter. I came back and my wife informed me I'd missed EVERYTHING. Madness is taking place!

Not as close at the finish as usual, but it still had us yelling at the TV :) I did love the strategy duel, endurance racing is awesome. Now, should AMG have done a tire swap? Might have made a difference at the next safety car if they'd managed to get close enough, but that Ferrari was quick.

Seems to me they caused all the safety cars after that?

Of course after streaming the entirety of the race perfectly my computer decided to pick that time to start messing up. I resorted to watching the rest on my phone.

It was exciting to the end. I feel for the 22 car team though.

So that was quite an ending... and quite an interview.

I guess they did But it could have very easily been someone else, like that Porsche/Lambo bumpercar moment in turn 1. As an endurance racing crew chief, that was a really interesting part of the race. When the AMG went into the wall, my first thought was that the rear tires just gave up. They got some serious mileage out of that set.

I'm going to have to go back and watch some of the stuff from mid-race, I think.

Almost forgot - one of my favorite moments was the flaming Lamborghini in pit lane. Three guys with fire extinguishers, and as soon as it appears there's no more visible flame in the wheel well, off it goes. "Watch that left rear tire, it might be a little slippery as it's covered in foam".

Why was it on fire? Was it fully out? Who cares! Go go go!

In reply to Keith Tanner:

Yeah, that was a moment.

That race, more than any other I can recall, was just full of excitement and drama from beginning to end. The second I started to think things are going to die down and just grind some hours out the whole race flipped on it's head again.

Should be renamed the Bathurst twelve hours of pure awesomeness.

Definitely on my bucket list, second only to Le Mans for races that I must see before I die.
