These races are so much more enjoyable than what we have today, and at one of my favorite tracks. Even get to see Peter Brock! That said, footage like this is like owning a classic car - it's worth far more left original. Always irks me how filmmakers feel compelled to manufacture drama by adding fake announcer voices and sound effects. Just let it tell its own story!
For the American-centric folks, it's not THAT Peter Brock. It's the Aussie racing legend.
As for the announcer and the music, that's the style of the time for a recap. You want it left original, this IS original.
I'm going to say there are some people who don't watch the 12 hr race at Bathurst. Real cars, not boring.
My favorite part of the town of Bathurst is you back into your parking space , at least on Main street.
It's like they are getting ready for a LeMans start !
I thought BRE Pete Brock was always Pete Brock and Peter Brock was the Australian racer but BRE Pete Brock uses Peter Brock all over his BRE website. Go figure.

Sorry, my favorite is 1985 something about the V12 on the overrun going down hill.

Love it. That in-car of the Jag is a beautiful noise. Also, that's before the Chase was added so you get the full length of Conrod in one of the fastest cars to ever tear down that straight.

I like these videos from the 1980s where the media have cameras in a couple of cars that can swivel around.
Kinda not safe but interviewing the driver at speed is amusing:

That reminds me of a story from roughly that time-frame. Something about brakes being a concern and people were not overly worried about the big name in the Jags (Tom Walkinshaw?) because they would lose time in the pits changing brakes.
Well, they had worked out brake pad changes to a science before the race, and a pad swap only added about five minutes while other teams needed 20 or so to swap things out. Pit in, pop new brakes on, and pop right back out again. The competitons' faces got real long after the first brake pad swap...

Yup Tom walkinshaw the video I posted above is Tom behind the wheel.
The original clip doesn't do much for me, mainly because of the annoying music and video editing. Absolutely love Bathurst though. This is the first clip I ever saw of it, and still my favorite, starting about 40 seconds in:
