1st clip... two flaggers shat themselves for certain.

I have a good friend who is also a member here who had a similar accident years ago when we raced together. If he wishes to speak up that's his choice. I wasn't racing that weekend as I had the flue and had missed practice and qualifying the day before, I was feeling better on Sunday so went up to spectate. Opening lap, hilltop at Waterford Hills he went off the outside and the car rolled along the fence at the outside of the track is a similar way to this vid. A fence post came through the windshield/roof and ended up 6" from decapitating him. As a spectator I (and many other friends) were convinced of the worst. Not a pleasant thing to see your friend crash like that. We joke now that 2 seconds after coming to rest he knew he was OK, but the rest of us were terrified for several minuets until the rescue crew did their stunning job and got him out. No real reason for mentioning this here, except it's one thing to talk dispassionately about something after the fact when you know all is OK, but the emotions in the moment are very different. BTW that turned out to be his last race, I did one more then hung up my helmet. We both have families now and think long and hard about the safety of on track activities.
