Why is it that if you BBQ around / near your car it always seems like the food tastes better. Tonight, T-Bone steaks and spuds on the grill (ya it is 20 deg out) but for the winter the grill is moved next to the back door right next to my Porsche and for some reason it seems that things are just that much better. I have noticed that when you grill at the shop or at the track or in the driveway when working one some one else's car (think timing belt parties) the same thing happens. The food just seems that little bit better.

Ok I must be weird or something.

Atmosphere my friend. Your mood/surroundings greatly affect your perception of things like food.

if you drink beer while cooking it it seems to make the taste better as well, but that is a no brainer.

Cheap Winn-Dixie hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill at the track always seem to be gourmet delights. Especially if you are doing the cooking for the crew. Made me a hero many times.
