Ok folks, I finally got all the parts ready to get the punky funky buellster back together and I just checked the rear swing arm bearing, of course the cheap chinese bearings are seized after sitting 6 months.
The bearing part is 6204-2rs off the buelly. I went down to the local napa and they want 62$ for 2 bearings which seems a bit high to me being a grmer. So I am planning on ordering some parts for the rats benz and autohaus az sells a wheel bearing 6204-rsh/c3 for 10$ each and I was curious if it will work. I'm pretty sure a swing arm faces much less stress than a wheel but really hell if I know. I just don't know what the 6204-xxxx means. Will any 6204 bearing work or does it have to be the -2rs one?
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
As I recall the 6204 would be the base number and 2rs would be a variation, such as a shield or a snap ring groove etc.
6200 is the series. 04 is the size, and 2 RS is 2 rubber seals. In this case RSH also means 2 rubber seals, and C3 is the internal clearance, looser than normal, which for you is fine. The difference from standard clearance for your application won't matter.
Thank you folks I'm slowly learning the lingo for parts. I've always found that determining which part you are talking about and being able to convey that is the most difficult part. It appears that chinese bearing are worthless as a side note.
Thanks again Iceman and the Zombie there will be a loud obnoxious, not so smokey, motorcycle back on the road pretty soon giving yuppies hell!

Spend the money now and save your self the trouble buy SKF or FAG bearings.
Yes 2RS is 2 ruber seals.
SS or 2S is two steel sheilds sheilds let water in and water etc.
I generally hit the local bearing store for mine, they are cheaper than NAPA etc and generally have SKF, FAG, Timken or other good brands. Warning: some counter folk there will try to 'help' you, for instance I pulled rubber sealed bearings out of the bike and the girl working the counter insisted that it needed steel seals 'because of the shaft speed involved'. Nope, gimme rubber seals please.
Bearings are ordered, SKF. There are a couple of bearing shops around but figure since I'm going to need parts for the mercedes it is still cheaper just getting the parts from arizoner.
Thanks folks!
