this thing was in such beautiful condition, it could have come right off the showroom floor. Still one of my favorite cars of all time. And the most awesome of vanity plates...

I'm always amazed when I see one of these "in the metal", as they seem so small and so LOOOOOOWW to the ground.

I was next to/behind him and I swear the roof of the lotus was around the bottom of my windshield...IN A WRX. I kept on thinking "how the hell does someone sit in there" before remembering that my GT6 is probably not any taller!
Well, it's NOT a 4-rotor....
The cool thing about the original Esprit is that they're one of the few cars that went from show car to "street" car almost unchanged. Gotta love that origami design.

lol, when I first saw it (and not knowing Esprit chassis/engine codes), I was thinking that must be the chassis or engine code for a different, less desireable year of the car, the "4RE." Took me a few minutes before the little light bulb in my head lit up...
hahahaha
I see 4RE = Ferrari
After all it is red and an exotic
to be honest who gives a flying "F" about a rotory
Heh.
I know someone who, at one time, owned THREE first-series Esprits. I liked to joke that he was cornering the market.

Anyone who lets a Lotus sit outside with the windows down needs to be shot in the scrotum with a frozen paint ball.
