So let's say I want to have a car to first do a crap can car rally, then do some work and take it to the GRM challenge, the UTCC and the One Lap and throw in some HPDEs in there. What would be a car that could be cheap enough and reliable enough to do that? Also it would be nice to have so get up and go while not being miserable to drive on the road. Just to make it a little harder I would like it to be European.
Old rabbit with a vr6 or 1.8T swap sounds like the ticket to me.
Alfa Milano. Seriously, they have done well in lemons, run in the one lap, and lots of people use them for track days.

I'm gonna say it before Ben can- mx6 GT.
Eagle (Renault) Medallion?
Milano was one of my first thoughts. I would prefer if I was to do this, not for it to have a major swap.
Also the Eagle Medallion? Weren't those Renault/ AMC things unreliable POS?
The person I bought my milano from actually had a couple eagle medallions, they said they were kinda boring, but they got 30 mpg and were fine to just drive to work everyday or something. Im not sure if they were a good source for reliability opinions though, other than a porsche boxster they didnt seem to own anything else but old italian cars.

i think those evolved into the LH series of cars... so, yeah, take that for whatever it's worth...

See the mopar in my user name? That means most suggestions will be or be related to Chrysler. You said you wanted something european, it's all I had.
And to answer your question. It was a Renault built by Chrysler, would you expect it to be reliable?

To me, that sounds like the punchline of a good joke.
