Just found this one, NMNA:

I've always liked the looks of the flare side trucks.

Double your budget, double your fun. I bought this for $3500 a year ago:

First gen Lightnings with a bunch of miles and some cosmetic challenges are out there if you look. For the extra money you get Triton comparable power without the ejecting spark plugs or rocker panel rot along with really nice seats, lowered suspension and several other tweaks that make them unique. Only available as automatics though.

Thanks for all of the input fellas. It was slow night in the ER last night, so I spent a lot of time on Searchtempest. There seems to be a lot of GM 1500's, and F150's in my price range. I think I am going to look exclusively for a full sized truck. Since it won't be a DD gas mileage isn't too much of a concern. That said some of the TBI 1500's seem to get pretty decent mileage. Before I was a Honda guys I was all Ford. (2 fox bodies, 2 SHO's), but I am leaning towards the GM trucks for cheap/easy LS power if I need to replace the motor. I used to be in love with the first gen Lightning, but when I started researching modifications I was kinda turned off. I can't remember exactly why, maybe something with the ECU not liking aggressive cams.

The range of prices that people are asking is truly amazing. I found quite a few in my price range, and quite a few 89-94ish 1500's that people are asking 5-7k for. Craigslist is entertaining.
