I'm with the first Bourne movie too.
I enjoyed the Transporter movies with Jason Statham as well:
Came across this one last night, too: John Wayne in a Trans-Am vs. a panel van. (And, yes, that Trans-Am does sound a little familar.)

The problem with the Bourne movies is that they introduced the Hollywood style of Parkinson’s disease camera action. Go ahead, watch it again and come back here. I’ll wait. ——————- see what I mean! I nearly puked after seeing all that camera swaying, and yet the actors had hardly any movement at all! I liked the car chase with the mini, but the camera shaking killed those movies for me.

At least the first one, anyway. The later ones kind of jumped the shark, chase-wise.
The big problem I have with Ronin is when they do the reverse 360 in the old Mercedes they did a very poor CGI smoke screen under the car. It ruins the whole thing for me as it's so poorly done. My guess is they used it to cover up some kind of rig they used to spin the car.
I'm going with Bullit.

I like the Bourne movies and the chase scenes, but to each their own.
The Mercedes smoke screen was pretty distracting, I just look elsewhere on the screen when it comes up.
How about Lethal Weapon 2? Not the best, but pretty entertaining.

That was a demo derby not a car chase. However still a GREAT movie!!!! It is on my top ten of all time. But then again so is Caddyshack LOL
Yeah I love the Blue Brothers. It is an amazing movie but the car chase is not even in my top 15 car chases.
I've probably watched Ronin 100 times. I've never noticed the issue with the smoke. Thanks. I'll probably never be able to unsee it once I watch it again.

That's exactly what happened to me.

I still get a laugh out of the flaming guitar guy.
"So, umm, what exactly is my job again?"
"Provide us with bad a** guitar riffs and pyrotechnics while we chase people in the desert."
"Why am I doing this?"
"Because its bad a**."
Smokey and the Bandit or the last 45 minutes in the original Gone in 60 Seconds. The rest of the movie was terrible.

JG, normally your words are gospel, man, but you are wrong here. The LA channels are hackneyed to death. It's frankly astonishing that LAPD doesn't have a special squad that just drives up and down them inviting crowds of idiots to go away.
I stand by my choice but I dig where you're coming from. I guess I've just always seen the LA river as a piece of cinematic iconography. Like Vasquez rocks or the Bradbury Building or the Quality Cafe, they show up in movies all the time—to the point where sometimes it takes you out of the immersion—but they're also a nod to the history of filmmaking at the same time.
Also, I've always wondered if there's any movies shot in the flood control channels where if you look closely enough you can see another movie being shot in the background.
Also also, I would pay cash money to drive a car in those channels, like doing one of those exotic driving experiences, except instead of driving a Lambo on a track you get to drive a P71 down the LA River.
Watching that clip I thought to myself, I've seen this before. I pause one of the scenes and sure enough, signs for centre-ville and the Pont Champlain. Montreal!!!? Really the only redeeming part of this. Too long, hokey music, and bad edits.
