Love driving in the Rain as it relates to my old dirt track days and can pass others on the street safety at the speed limit. What Tire with a high Treadwear number is the best at wet grippage. I can deal with a slight loss of dry traction. Cost is not a factor. What say you?
Would you consider 40 a "high" treadwear number? Because these guys are DOT compliant and it's really hard to beat them in monsoon weather:

If not the Vredestein Quatrac 5 are 400 treadwear and they are surprisingly good in the rain.

im liking my Nokian WR G4's i have put on my RF

The Hooisers are tempting, but I need something with longer life. The Vs look good. Currently on Pirelli P4s. Best rain tire so far. Always looking for better.
I found the Continental DWS to have excellent grip in the rain. 540 tread wear. Loved those tires.

Yes, this, but they only come in 17" and up.
If you need 15" or 16", I just put the next Continental down in sportiness (but up in treadwear - they're 800s) on my daughter's car - the TrueContact Tour. In the couple of soakers we've had recently, they seem pretty good for $100 each:

I don't know where you found tire sizes. I have 16 inch wheels on my Ralliart.
I've had the Conti DWS ExtremeContacts for a couple years on the GTI and they handle Florida rainstorms without any problem. They are, I believe, 560 treadwear. If you like youre wheels, I would ensure you find a good tire tech as it took the guy about 45 minutes to mount 2 on mine.

Well, they sure didn't have them in 225/60/16 or whatever for the Impala, and someone said they did not come in 16s.
