good plan
I always considered post new year a good time to buy as people will still be paying off Christmas and muscle doesn't sell as well in snow.
keep lookin' tho

Corvairs are cool for sure, and your budget will probably buy a pretty nice one. They are NOT really a musclecar, or a ponycar. They're really not like anything else domestic from that era. Parts are available, but they generally come from specialist places and they're not nearly as cheap as the regular domestic iron, which is dirt-cheap to work on and mechanical parts are at every parts store.
Gotcha, I'll pass on the corvair.
This Nova is cool, wish it wasn't a 4 door. I really dig the older novas look http://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/3565563621.html
I dig that Comet. If the owner could be talked down quite a bit I would consider that a nice project.

That's seems to be a HUGE problem with people selling their classic cars around here. "I saw a 69 Camero sell for 500000$ on B&J, so my clapped out 87 Iroc must be worth 20000$ because it's gonna be worth that much some day"
Arrrrrrghhhhh!
'75 duster, looks good

be patient young man
^ that would be fun, drive around in it for a bit then drop a v8 in it. But Conneticut is a long ways away.
Road trips in Darts are fun. My wife and I bought one 400 miles away and drive it home back when we were in our 20's.
To help encourage the '66 Dart:
That's CPDave's car.
I'd totes be down to pick up that Dart.. I like the way it looks. The question is will it survive the trip? Could be fun.
Yea Datsun, good suggestion. I just got accepted for a raise, so my budget can go up. Or I can get something like that dart and slowly build it up.
this dart is still around too http://raleigh.craigslist.org/cto/3524018604.html
That '66 got a better look to it tho imo
