A crate motor can be a pretty easy weekend job. You can do it outside.

You will need to work on it and probably swap the engine because that's the only part of the car that matters. But maybe not? We need to make more guesses.

As to the value, the only way to figure it out is to look at other cars from different years / OEM / target audience and see what those might sell for and compare them to this one.
