Been working on my first full roll cage over the last couple weeks (I've done fancy roll bars before) and starting to think about the window net mounts. For those with more experience using nets, what type of mounting/release do you prefer? Bonus if it's easy to fabricate.

I'd just buy the upper 'seat belt' buckle mount they make. I considered trying to make something, but for the price of the kit I couldn't beat it.
The bottom is a little more challenging. I wound up using the metal bar the kit comes with, then ran a vinyl covered metal cable from it and looped it around one of the door bar tubes. Kind of hard to describe. I made sure the whole thing was fairly easy to remove as in a sedan it's a PITA and gets in the way a lot when you're trying to work on it.
Don't fall into the trap of thinking the net has to be rigid tight when installed, as it makes snapping the buckle into place when you're belted in really difficult. Make it with some slack; it has to keep you in the car, but doesn't have to be like a solid wall next to you.
Cool - thanks for the tips!
And make sure that the net drops down when released and not required to be flipped up.
I've made my own quick release net tabs but the seatbelt buckle is easy and as mentioned cheap to buy for what it is.

Yes go seat belt buckle type I've seen lever latch type like racing belt type used and saftey workers had hard time in drills with those where everyone knows how to push a orange button.
I like rigid. Makes seeing beside and behind you much easier. I use the cut off cam lock from an old harness as it is free, and being a cam design it takes up the slack to pull the net tight.
