For those of you considering a set of the new BFG G-Force Sport Comp 2 tires I present my observations over the first 3,000 miles on my 944: The stiff sidewalls provide crisp turn in and good feedback. Grip is pretty impressive even in rain showers. However those stiff sidewalls also make the tire pretty harsh over broken pavement, expansion strips, and such. Tire noise isn't bad but the tread pattern tramlines significantly on grooved pavement. After 3K miles there is no discernable tread wear. Some of the molding lines and stubble are still on the tires. I haven't run any events but normal R spec tires would already be showing some wear. So, if you can deal with some of the comfort compromises, it appears that the tires do perform as advertised: Near R spec grip without the fast tread wear.
Two other good things: First, price- they are much less than some other traditional choices. Worth taking a chance on. Secondly- They have a tread wear of 340. That makes them eligible for LeMons/ Chumpcar and they will stomp any other currently available tire with a 190 or higher rating.
That's all for now. I'll report at 10K and after an autocross or two.

Awesome thanks for the writeup
Is the "Comp 2" different from the G-Force Sports I ran on my MR2? I loved them, and they lasted better than I expected. But they don't make the right sizes for the stagger anymore. If the Comp 2 has more grip than the ones I had, they must be pretty impressive.

The Comp 2 is an improved version of the old G-Force Sports. That was a very good tire but did wear pretty fast.
Thanks for the info. I really liked the G-Force Sports. That's great to know!

Yep, the Comp 2 is an evolution of the G-Force Sport. The Comp-2 offers marginally better grip in the dry, but much better grip in the wet.
Thanks for the long-term report!
I'm thinking these will be the M3's next shoes.
