When (if ever) did the MK2 switch to 5 bolt? Thought about it, also thought about Mistu Starion wheels, both might be a bit too modern for it.

Hrmmm.... i may have had a brain fart.
I've seen an AW11 MR2 with MKii Supra wheels and i remember thinking that was strange.
But now that i think about it, i think that was a matter of 4x114 wheels on a 4x100 car, and not 5x114 on a 4x100 car.
Well, the car is here, all the parts are finally in one place. I have to paint my daughter's car this weekend then the Crown comes in and the crazy begins!

When I asked the daughter what she wanted in a car she channeled her mother and said "a green one" So I'm painting it green. sigh Nothing wrong with the stock paint other than it's silver and I firmly believe that Smart cars should only be painted colors that can be found in a Skittles bag. So she gets skittles green.
Yes but I like that painting a smart is a job start to Finnish for a weekend. And I think most of that will he waiting for the paint to cure enough for install

Yeah, my daughter was here over christmas break so we pulled all the body panels and wet sanded them to prep for paint. I will spend more time hanging plastic sheet to protect the rest of my shop from overspray then I will actually running the gun. After its sprayed I'll fire up the heater and let everything bake (a few hours with the heat on, then just cure for a week without) and I'll start reassembly next week sometime.
Because the body panels are all removable its a pretty simple job. The biggest effort was taking the rocker panels and lower front and rear trim which are textured black plastic and smoothing them out so they could be color matched. And the texture was so fine on those that 4 coats of filler primer and some wet sanding made them smooth.
This just turned up on the local CL....I wish it was priced appropriately for its condition, I'd start collecting them.

"I have to sell my 71 Toyota crown wagon with a 7mgte turbo swap and 5 speed. Needs a tune with megasquirt, a bigger battery. Car needs work but it's from California so the frame is great. No rot and only light surface rust. I have bill of sale. Only crown wagon in the east coast this wagon is rare!!!"
Yeah, $1500 and even that's a stretch since it isnt running right and the 7M motors aren't exactly revered in the 'yota world even as a swap into these cars (the aussies refer to them as poo motors)
Honestly I'd be more interested if it was stock. Seller told me he'd trade it for a DD so if someone has a reliable but cheap DD they wanna swap for it that might work out.
I just like the very "futuristic" body style of the later cars like this
