I'm bringing my car out of winter hibernation and getting her ready for the season. You know all the basics, fluids and filters and the like.
I noticed the air filter, an open element K&N style was dirty so I took it off to clean it.
Even after two rounds of filter cleaner and hot water rinse it still has all these black spots all over it.
As the filter is visible when the hood is opened I'd like it to look good as well as function. What say the hive mind?
I've heard that some people run them on the top rack of the dishwasher, but SWIMBO and I still get along, so I might not want to do that.
