An online news source reports today that BMW and Toyota will announce this week, at the Tokyo Auto Show that they are about to sign a deal to swap engine/engine technology.

The details? Well, BMW will supply Toyota with diesel engines and Toyota will supply BMW with engines and/or technology for linking gas engines with electrics as in hybrids.

hm.

now, will BMW be bashed like Ford was when it was announced that Ford had to licence technology from Toyota? Or will they be placed on a higher pedastool?

Have a link? I'd love to see the report, considering what happened just on the other side of the wall a few months ago....

BMW will supply Toyota with Check Engine Lights, a feature not found on most Toyotas. Toyota will supply BMW with a product known as "boredom," something BMW's have lacked.

Toyota has been a forerunner when it comes to Hybrid power, I don't think this will hurt BMW when it comes to their new i3, i8, etc line of products.

Turbo Diesel FT-86?
