And thank him for getting Ford down the road to building competent cars in the US. Replacing the LTD with the Taurus was a ballsy move.

Oh, and more thanks for the Sierra. Not his fault we didn't get them with the "good" engines in the US.

he has stated that the basic design of the internal combustion engine cannot be improved. if all the new tech out there in the way of computer modeling and metals cant improve it what other avenues beside electric can we see in the furture powering our transportation

Oh, one last one..I have a dim memory of a story (or interview) in Car and Driver (can't remember who wrote it) in the '80s mentioned a situation where a US Ford executive asked him (Lutz) why Ford was doing better in Europe than they were doing in the US at the time. The story said Lutz (fresh from his FoE position) took the exec to a drivers' school.

I'd love to see ya do the Snopes thing on that one for me..

Ask him what he plans to do in reaction to the FRS/BRZ.

Two questions.

Ask him if he personally favors the incoming fuel mileage requirements or a significant increase in the gas tax.

Ask him why so few car guys like him make it to the top despite his obvious successes in rejuvenating many car companies.

Ask him if he things there will ever be a U.S. market segment for kei-type cars; ultra tiny fuel sippers that actually can be fun:
