Boxed flares on a gc8

Anyone know if you can weld on box flares from a later wrx on a gc8 coupe?

I'm not sure personally, but I can give you a bump for the morning crowd.

It'd be fun because you'd be grafting the doors as well as the fenders.

I know ready made overfenders exist, or at least used to.  A local rallycrosser also had an autocross GC with extra wide STI look flares.  (And a complete STI drivetrain)

you can do almost anything with enough time, money and a welder. 

Used to be several 22B style flare kits available, that's probably the most efficient path.

I used to see one at autocrosses years ago that had huge flares and tires completely different design than the WRX though.
