Stupid California laws.

Managed to figure out the dash issue last weekend. The on/off switch for the dash was damaged and that resulted in an intermittent contact. I also managed to fit the new belts (old belts had aged out).
The wiring is a bit of a crimped together, wrapped in duct tape dog's breakfast so that needs addressing at some point, too but right now it looks like it's mostly functional.
Unfortunately between an unexpected roof repair - hey, the leak wasn't over the garage so why bother fixing it - and my tow vehicle suddenly developing problems, it looks like I'll have to sit out the last races of the season also. This blows mightily, but with the play money being nailed to the roof I'm a little too broke to happily stomach the extra cost of having to rent a truck and trailer on top of the various repair costs.
Sometimes I wonder if this saga has been the universe trying to tell me that I should buy a beige Camry and find another hobby.
Tim.......we know where you live and should you by a Camry I suspect it might have a mysterious electrical fire.
There is indeed a good bit of suffering that goes on when trying to be an amateur racer; you currently in the dark part of the tunnel, keep putting one foot in front of the other and. The light will eventually appear.
After 30 years I often wonder what the heck was I thinking but than I get out on track and remember how much fun it is.

Nice Camry you have there, shame if something happened to it, eh?

This is not restricted to racing, I've had a couple of years of self-propelled lights at the end of the tunnel. I'm hoping that this will change sooner or later.

Oh yeah, the ten laps I got in so far were certainly fun, but they also look like that'll be it for at least six months' time due to other circumstances.
Anyway, the non-update - I'll miss out on the last race of the season also. Guess I better have a word with SCCA what I can do about keeping/renewing my license as I don't meet the requirements for renewal.
