Thinking of going with a Braille battery to drop some weight from the front of the Protege. How do Braille batteries hold up in a daily driver? I do plan on using an AGM-specific desulfating charger periodically to aid battery life.

Use a Deka if you want a Braille without the Braille tax.

It should be fine on a daily driver. If you aren't going to drive it for a period of time, disconnect it.

I did it, but you can get the same battery for a lot less under a whole lot of different names.

Just don't leave the dome light on overnight.

I never had any issues starting the car, but little things left on will drain it.

mines more than 4 yrs old .. it's not DD'en ... but I do drive it to and from events .. this past winter was the first sign of age ... the cold zapped it dead ... took it inside and hooked it up to a ~ 50 yr old home charger and it's been fine since
