Roommate's 03 Civic Si got new brake pads two days ago, now won't start?
Engine cranks but won't fire up.
No codes, battery is good, petrol is present, and he hasn't touched anything in the engine bay since an oil change two months ago.
(We double checked that we didn't accidentally disconnect/break something during the brake job)
He reports not having had any issues with the car prior to this.

Something obvious we're missing?
Where to start?

Who did the pads?

The last time it ran was immediately before it was jacked up for brake pads?

Then the very next time it was cranked, it didn't start?

Roommate, yes, and yes.

We yanked the valve cover to take a look at the timing chain, cursory observation points towards it being very off.

If it lost the tensioner they do tend to jump at startup/shutdown.
