my truck is driving me crazy. it squeals like crazy the last 5 or 10 mph from the stop. there is no squeal tab and the pads have plenty of life. they are EBC greens (for towing). it hasnt always made the noise but it has for a few months now (intermittent use vehicle) what works to make that stop? any advice is appreciated!

Have you oiled your brakes lately?

maybe the hardware and shims(if they weren't replaced with the pads)?
We actually have a bulletin on '13 altimas for a brake squeal from the rear: replace hardware and shims.
maybe also check that the backs of the pads are lubed up (molykote or something of the like) under the shims?

Hmmm, there were t any shims when I replaced the pads. But the previous pads didn't squeal either. I did put grease on the parts of the caliper that contacted the pad backs though. I will take another look. Anyone know if dura god are supposed to have shims?

No clue on that. Before my brake lines failed they had a squeal to them sometimes. No clue what caused them to this day. Inspect your brake lines for rust.

from what I've seen you just transfer the shims over unless you buy new oem. If it didnt have any shims before then it's probably not that.
Cheaper pads sometimes squeal right out of the box sadly=/
We put some on the sportage that squealed immediately.
I bought oem pads for the other kia and havent had any noiose yet. I went ahead and paid more for oem because I was pretty happy with how well they worked, and the fact that the rears lasted 85k miles, the fronts are still okay at 91k miles. Pretty mindblowing that pads are lasting that long imo
