I'm in the process of ordering the new RE-71rs tires from Tire Rack. The Tire Rack webpage for the tire shows that Bridgestone is offering a $90 rebate. When placing the order, I was told that the rebate may not happen.
I have confirmed on a call to Bridgestone/Firestone that the transaction must be completed by May 31. The ship date is June 1st, making this ineligible for the rebate.
I called Tire Rack back to tell them that since it's very unlikely that the rebate is going to happen, and since the webpage automatically calculates the price of the tires accounting for the rebate, they need to put a disclaimer on the page.
I feel that since I was told this by the Tire Rack salesperson, I was fully informed, but not everyone is going to be as understanding. If you're considering ordering a set of these, take this into account when calculating the expense.
